Fabric Care Instructions

Patterned Fabrics

Fabric Care Guidelines

General guidelines for caring for your fabrics*:

  • Do not allow items to become heavily soiled.

  • Do not put detergents directly onto fabrics.

  • Do not use detergents with whitening or bleaching properties.

  • Use a professional dry clean on furnishings unless stated.

  • Lampshades, Waste Paper Bins and PVC products can only be spot cleaned with a damp sponge. Do not use a hoover on these products.

  • Wicker products - Wicker willow can be washed with a damp sponge and warm soapy water.

Laundrette

Machine Wash

If home washing is suitable on our soft furnishings we highly recommend temperatures no higher than 30 degrees and separate washing into light and dark colours. When selecting your detergent it is important to ensure it is a non-biological detergent which contains no optical whiteners, bleaching agents or enzymes that cause colours to fade and damage the fabric.

Pink Striped Baby Sweater

Shrinkage

When washed appropriately a normal amount of shrinkage can occur with our natural fabrics that is acceptable (approx. 0.5cm - 1cm). Depending on the composition of the fabric, this can also stretch out to original size. Excessive shrinkage will occur if washing at high temperatures.

iron

Ironing

If ironing is suitable, iron on a steam cool setting when the fabric is slightly damp.

Washing Whites

Hand Wash

If hand washing is suitable do not place detergent or powder directly onto the fabric. Allow the powder to fully dissolve or liquids to disperse in the water and submerge the fabric into the water. Do not excessively rub the fabric as this can cause it to become damaged or strip colour.

Clothes Line

Drying

Line drying is highly recommended as it reduces the amount of creases. If a tumble drier is suitable and at the correct setting do not over dry the fabric. Some of our fabrics will crease more easily making ironing more difficult. Reshape fabric whilst damp.

Glow

Fading

Natural fading of the fabric will occur overtime, this can be accelerated with excessive washing, washing heavily soiled items, washing items at higher temperatures, washing items incorrectly using whitening or bleaching agents, over drying and direct sunlight.
